This novel kept me on my toes.  I found no faults and have no complaints.  The dialogue, imagery, and creativity drew me in immediately.  I will definitely be reading more from Rebecca Ross.

"The Summer I Turned Pretty" is a young adult novel written by Jenny Han. The story revolves around a girl named Belly Conklin and her annual summer visits to the beach house with her family and their close friends, the Fishers. The book captures the pivotal summer when Belly, who has always been considered the "little sister" among the Fisher boys, starts to experience significant changes.

Throughout the summer, Belly navigates the complexities of growing up, first love, and the shifting dynamics of her relationships with the Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. The narrative is characterized by a mix of nostalgia, coming-of-age experiences, and the exploration of the emotional nuances that accompany the transition from childhood to adolescence. The title reflects the transformative nature of that particular summer in Belly's life.

"The Summer I Turned Pretty" is perfect if you are searching for a romance read, not just during the summer, but for any and all seasons.  My advice is to pick this book up when it is below zero and you're snowed in, while you yearn for ninety degrees and open pools.  "The Summer I Turned Pretty" makes you feel like you are living Belly's life, soaking in the summer sun and having the time of your life with your best friends.  This book captures your attention right off the bat.  Jenny Han's way with words is genuinely astonishing, leaving me truly impressed.

I had heard great reviews on this novel, but was hesitant to read because in the past, I hadn't been a huge fan of suspense.  Once I raised "Verity" up and began to read, my entire perspective of suspense changed.  I am now a huge fan of the genre because of this very well-written and incredible novel.  

My only concern regarding "Verity" is that the wordsmith is known to write the same genre as Verity Crawford, yet she has not read any books by the talented author.
